1.3 Million Lose Extended Unemployment Benefits - Federal Extension on Unemployment Benefits Delayed (at best)

Law Providing Federal Extended Unemployment Benefits Will Expire on December 28, 2013 -
1.3 Million American Citizens Immediately Affected

The U.S. House of Representatives has gone home for the Holidays.  That means that there is no chance that the legislature can act in time to protect 1.3 million unemployment recipients who are currently receiving such benefits, because the Act enabling such benefits will now expire on December 28, 2013.  Click Here for more.

No One Wants to be Standing in this Line...
This is I am sure very sad and traumatic news for the affected Americans, who are in my prayers.

Things could get worse before they get better.  Today, a bi-partisan bill was submitted calling for a 3 month extension on benefits in 2014.  This may or may not pass.

If it does not pass, it is estimated that an additional 850,000 unemployed workers who would be entitled to federal extension benefits in the coming months would be out of luck.

If it does pass, it is expected that a significant percentage of said 850,000 workers would be without benefits sooner than later (for many years, the feds have extended benefits for up to 6 months at a time).
